AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA, Sep 22, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – AkiraNET, a Taiwan-based joint venture between ZINWELL and SUNPLUS Technology, announced an agreement with Coherent Logix (Austin, TX) for the development of the AKX22 V-SOC chipset, Wi-Fi 6E Mesh software development and joint development of Yoshino 6E Mesh Wi-Fi home network appliance.
Coherent Logix is the world leader in programmable processors for embedded systems. At the heart of this new product is Coherent Logix’s HyperX ™ digital streaming processor technology. HyperX is a software-defined platform enabling a Virtual System on Chip (VSOC), and since the functionality of the processor is defined in software, it is anticipated that these devices will be sold for many other purposes beyond the Wi-Fi mesh. -Fi based on AI. in consumers’ homes.
This new Wi-Fi-mesh benchmark design is unlike any other due to the software-defined nature of the VSOC that drives it and can be upgraded with additional functionality once deployed. Consumers and service providers will be able to download or distribute software upgrades and enhancements to the device once it is deployed on their network. These can be more than just firmware updates, but functional upgrades like a new Wi-Fi 7 radio module, new AI for mesh control, new software-defined network features, etc.
“We are very pleased to serve this new joint venture between these two well-established companies in the consumer electronics and automotive fields and look forward to their success with this chipset and product family,” said Michael Doerr (Founder and CEO of Coherent Logix).
Jack Huang, President of ZINWELL and AkiraNET BOD, said, “This product has been planned for a long time and we are happy to see it enter this next phase of development. The many retail and service provider customers that we serve are excited to see this new product and the low price of such an advanced broadband data device for the home.
AkiraNET Co. is a factory-less chip manufacturer based in Taipei, Taiwan. Founded in 2020, AkiraNET’s initial projects include a 6E Wi-Fi mesh network and IoT MIMO reference designs, tailored to the hardware-to-software interface for optimal performance. Using AkiraNET chipsets, product upgrades will simply be a matter of breaking in new firmware, accelerating our customers’ application development to keep pace with the markets rather than adapting to traditional hardware and vendor constraints.
Coherent Logix is a leading provider of programmable processors in markets and application areas requiring low power, high throughput, real time and cost effective IT solutions. Based in Austin, TX, Coherent Logix introduced the unique HyperX technology to the market in 2007, introducing HyperX Virtual System on Chip (VSOC) technology, miniaturizing legacy systems down to nanoscale devices. This technology is suitable for applications such as aerospace, automotive, communications, consumer, industrial, media and entertainment, medicine, military and many others where scalable processing and communications in the field combined with very low energy consumption are essential.
