Chairman and Managing Director of Nand Lal Sharma informed that SJVN has entered into an agreement for the construction of a single zebra 220 KV D/C transmission line for stage 1 of the 210 MW Luhri hydropower project with Kalpataru Power Transmission ltd.
Nand Lal Sharma further informed that this hydropower project which spans Shimla, Mandi and Kullu districts in Himachal Pradesh will be connected to 220/400 KV GIS pool at Nanj in Mandi district through ISTS grid for the transmission of electricity. The deal calls for an outlay of Rs 71.18 Crore and includes end-to-end delivery of the commissioned transmission line by August 2024.
Nand Lal Sharma further stated that Luhri HEP Stage-1 is designed to generate 758 MU of power per year which would be transmitted through this ISTS network line. This is another important step towards strengthening the diversified portfolio of the “Mini Ratna” company, which shows SJVN’s commitment to empowering the nation, Sharma added.
The contract agreement was signed today by Salil Shamshery, Executive Director, Power Contracts, SJVN and Prabina Kumar Mohanty, Vice President, Gujarat Projects, Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. On this occasion, senior officials from SJVN and Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd. were also present.
Sharma informed that SJVN currently has a total portfolio of approximately 42,000MW and is functional in all energy vertical business sectors, namely hydro, thermal and renewable sources, in addition to diversifying. and venture into power transmission and power trading. Recent additions of new projects lead the company to achieve its shared vision of 5,000 MW by 2023, 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW of installed capacity by 2040.
