SmackDown contract signing segment involving Charlotte will be edited out after botching

Ronda Rousey and Charlotte will be in a signing deal on SmackDown next week, but a clip of the pre-recorded segment had to be edited

Next week’s SmackDown was pre-taped because the Superstars will be traveling to Saudi Arabia, but one of the segments has already gone viral due to a botched one involving Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey.

Rousey and Naomi were in the process of signing Flair and Sonya Deville when Rousey was supposed to slam Charlotte’s head against the table. However, Charlotte awkwardly resisted the attack before comically throwing herself onto the table.

Now, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed WWE wasn’t happy with how things went during the segment, so he’ll edit it to make it better when the episode actually airs next Friday.

On the latest edition of Wrestling observation radio, Dave Meltzer will fix what he can through the power of editing. It’s unclear exactly what they’ll do to change things up, as they could opt for the best camera angles or cut the moment altogether.

Spoilers for what happens during the Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, Naomi and Sonya Deville contracts segment on SmackDown next week

Adam Pearce hosted the signing of the contract between the two pairs of women. There was a natural exchange of angry words until Rousey tossed the SmackDown Women’s Title belt to Charlotte Flair.

This led to the aforementioned snapping point that didn’t quite go to plan, and a subsequent decentralization of the proceedings. Naomi kicked Sonya Deville, then the segment ended when Rousey and Naomi flipped the contract signing table on Flair and Deville.

This meant Rousey and Naomi’s match against Flair and Deville would take place at the Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia, meaning WWE would impressively host three women’s matches at the event – this tag team match, the Women’s Elimination Chamber and the Raw Women’s Title match between Becky Lynch and Lita.
