MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) – Local union United Auto Workers 281 has released some of the details of the tentative agreement between the UAW and Deere & Company. The two groups reached this agreement in principle on Saturday morning. UAW Local 281 also announced that the vote on the proposed agreement will take place on Tuesday.
The union says the contract will include general wage increases starting at 10% for the first year. No changes have been made to health insurance costs, according to a Union post. This includes free premiums, coinsurance and deductibles.
Union officials say the agreement also includes a retirement bonus for those who have worked at Deere & Co. for 10 years or more. Unionized workers who work between the ages of 10 and 24 will receive a bonus of $37,500 while those working over 25 will receive $50,000, according to details released Sunday.
The UAW will vote on the tentative agreement on Tuesday, November 2.
The UAW 281 poll will take place at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, with polls open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a Union article. Strike service will resume after the vote until all ballots have been counted and the results have been reported to each group.
Other UAW locals will vote at various locations in the region.
