WWE SmackDown Results February 25: Lesnar-Reigns Contract Signed!

WWE Smack down results from Hershey, Pennsylvania. It was announced ahead of time that Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar will have a signed contract ahead of their clash at Wrestle Mania 38. Additionally, new Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn will celebrate his championship win last week, and Drew McIntyre will take on Madcap Moss in a Disposal chamber revenge.

WWE SmackDown Results – February 25, 2022

A video recap is shown of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns’ journey since WWE Day 1. It has been confirmed that their match at Wrestle Mania 38 will now be a championship unification match.

We cross live the arena of Hershey. Michael Cole is in the ring introducing “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” Ronda Rousey. Cole begins an in-ring interview with her and asks her why she decided to return to the Royal Rumble. Ronda says after the injuries and giving birth she knew she wanted to come back, and she came back and punched her ticket to WrestleMania.

Rousey talks about her mother who inspired her and how she wants to set the same example for her daughter. Cole talks about Rousey’s accolades outside of WWE. Ronda says she is already looking forward to the sequel and wants to bring Charlotte Flair on for the first time in her career.

Cole talks about Disposal chamber and a recap is shown of the match, where Ronda had his arm tied behind his back during the fight. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair then enters. Charlotte says she hosted Ronda last week. Charlotte says to WrestleMania and says she’s going to submit Ronda for the first time in her career.

Charlotte says she wants to be done with her at ‘Mania, Ronda can go to work on baby number two. Sonya Deville then attacks Rousey from behind. Charlotte gets involved and wraps Ronda’s right knee against the ring post. It should be noted that this is the same knee that Ronda suffered seven times. Ronda manages to turn the tables on Deville in the ring, but gets up and starts selling the knee injury.

Backstage, The New Day go behind the scenes on a four-wheeled vehicle. They will next face Los Lotharios.

Backstage, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville watch the opening segment back. Pearce says Sonya will go one-on-one with Ronda Rousey next week.

The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) vs. Los Lotharios (Angel and Humberto)

Los Lotharios once again pull out their kiss camera and kiss a member of the WWE Universe before stepping into the ring. The New Day came out on four wheels. Big E and Kofi dominate the first minutes of the match. Los Lotharios manage to get back into the contest as we go to a commercial. After some quick back and forth, The New Day hit the midnight hour for the win in a highly entertaining match.

Winners: The New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston) via pinfall

Backstage, Sheamus and Ridge Holland greet The New Day as they return from the ring, seemingly issuing a challenge.

Backstage, Sam Roberts asks The Usos about signing the contract later that night. The Usos say it’s the signing of the contract that’s for the greatest WrestleMania game of all time. The Usos talk about the Viking Raiders saying they can smell them from a mile away. The Viking Raiders then enter and attack the champions.

Behind the scenes, Xia Li is interviewed. Xia says she’s been waiting for this moment all her life, participating in her very first match on Smack down. She says she is confident ahead of her match with Natalya.

Xia Li vs. Natalya

Natalya took immediate control of the match, exhausting Xia Li. It looked like the fans were chanting “Hershey’s chocolate!” during the match, but Pat McAfee covered it up by saying the fans were chanting “Xia Li got it!” In the end, Xia takes the win with a spinning heel kick.

Winner: Xia Li via pinfall

A recap video is shown of Sami Zayn winning the Intercontinental Championship.

New Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring. He organizes a celebration of the championship. Sami Zayn says justice is finally served. He says he was the victim of a massive conspiracy.

Sami wonders if there was a conspiracy in the first place, and he says it’s a resounding yes. Zayn says no matter what they throw at him, he can overcome it. He demands respect. Sami says he’s happy to give Shinsuke a rematch, but Zayn says Nakamura is unavailable after breaking his kneecap last week.

Sami Zayn says he will face all comers and anyone brave enough to step up and face him. Johnny Knoxville’s music then hits and he heads to the ring. Sami is surprised. Zayn asks him what he wants. Knoxville said the Sami canceled his movie premiere, so he was canceling his party.

Sami says they can catch up later and respectfully asks Knoxville to leave. Knoxville says he thought Sami issued a challenge. Knoxville accepts this challenge. Sami says Knoxville doesn’t belong here. Knoxville questions Sami for disagreeing, wondering if he has balls. They go face to face and talk trash. Zayn then attacks Knoxville with a cheap shot and defeats him. The referees rush in and end up sending him away before he delivers a final Helluva Kick.

Backstage, Zayn speaks with Adam Pearce. Ricochet interrupts and says he wants to step in and face Sami for the title. Pearce makes it official for next week: Sami Zayn vs. Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship.

Sasha Banks vs. Shotzi

Sasha Banks appears for the first time since the Royal Rumble. Naomi walks out to join the match commentary. Banks eventually wins the match with the bank statement forcing Shotzi to tap out.

Winner: Sasha Banks by submission

Naomi steps into the ring after the match. Naomi says we’re looking at the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Backstage, Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss are interviewed. A recap shows Moss being planted on his head during his match with Drew in Jeddah. Corbin says Madcap has the strongest neck he’s ever seen. Corbin says that tonight Drew has to take care of him. Corbin says him vs. Drew is a WrestleMania caliber match and it’s happening here tonight. Corbin says he’s going to show McIntyre who the real warrior is.

Corbin takes the microphone before the game and wants to make sure Drew wants to get beat at Hershey. Corbin says the people of Hershey are pathetic. Corbin says Madcap Moss is tough as fingernails. Corbin tells Madcap to step on the apron. Corbin wants Moss to show people how awesome he really is. Corbin then suggests that Moss take the match because he deserves the rematch. Corbin says it’s just Drew McIntyre and he can take it. Both men take Drew down and they start beating him on the canvas.

Winner: No contest

Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss

Moss is still selling the neck injury. Drew opts for the Alabama Slam which saw Moss land on his head in Jeddah. However, Moss manages to escape with Corbin’s help. We just came back from a commercial with Moss at the controls. Nonetheless, out of nowhere, Drew hits Moss with a Claymore to pick up the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre via pinfall

Backstage, Ronda Rousey is interviewed. Rousey is asked about her match against Sonya next week. She says she’s going to show everyone what happens when authority figures think outside the box.

Universal Champion Roman Reigns – along with Paul Heyman and SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos – head to the ring for the WrestleMania contract signing. Roman tells Hershey to recognize him.

Paul Heyman then takes the floor and says that we have come to a point in history where we are faced with the greatest WrestleMania game of all time. Heyman says Reigns will cement his GOAT status in the Championship Unification Game. Heyman leaves us on a cliffhanger as he clicks the show into a commercial break with his fingers. It was different.

We’re back from the commercial break with WWE Champion Brock Lesnar entering. Roman does not take his eyes off him. Fans sing for Brock. Lesnar introduces himself using Heyman’s old shtick. Lesnar says he has to contain himself here. He says the only thing stopping him from kicking Roman and Heyman’s ass tonight is himself. Lesnar says he can bet he’ll get paid for it. Lesnar signs.

Heyman says he’s fed up with Lesnar’s disrespect. Heyman says Lesnar won’t be heading to WrestleMania as WWE Champion because he will lose the title at Madison Square Garden next Saturday. Roman now signs the contract. He says Lesnar must be confused because the WWE title is his title. Roman Reigns says he will crush Lesnar at WrestleMania.

He says it’s his show and his ring. He says everything and everyone works for him, even the security team in the ring. Security then surrounds Lesnar, but Lesnar attacks them all and sends them out of the ring.
